Super Size Bookmark

Good Morning!! So I just bought a new camera and I am super excited/nervous. My old camera is a point and shoot Fuji but now I have a DSLR Nikon. I have never used a DSLR before so it should be interesting, I bought it yesterday morning and it is still in it's box LOL!! I will spent this afternoon figuring it out!! Anyways last week there was two challenges that I wanted to enter but I had to wait until I received my new stamp/die set in the mail. They arrived on Wednesday but I hadn't had time to use them until this morning. It is the new "Just Simply Live" by My Creative Time, the two challenges are:

My Creative Time : Recycle It

Cut It Up : Anything Goes (must use a die-cut)

cardboard from the Martha Stewart Fringe Scissors
(recycled)

bookmark for my daughters workbooks

What I Used:

My Creative Time: Just Simply Live & Inspiring Words
Memento Ink: Tuxedo Black
Cuttlebug Embossing Folder: Butterflies in Flight
Buttons
Hot Glue Gun
Ribbon
Hole Punch
Cardstock (recycled from my stash)

When I saw the "recycle it" challenge I went into my craft room and looked around (fortunately for me I keep alot of packaging), I came across the cardboard that the scissors came in and new it would be perfect for a super size book mark (all of my daughters work books are big). I measured out the cardstock and wrapped it around the cardboard and then punched a hole to put the ribbon through, next I decorated it with some of my daughters favourite things, butterflies and purple!! I used the mini letters/numbers from the "Just Simply Live" stamp set and created the border around the die. the words "Determination" and "Commitment" came from the "Inspiring Words" stamp set. I wanted as she gets older to read those words and know to never give up no matter how hard it seems.

The My Creative Time challenge ends on Tuesday Sept. 18th at midnight EST and the Cut It Up challenge ends on Wednesday Sept. 19th at midnight EST.

Have A Great Week!! (I have family from Winnipeg coming to visit tomorrow)

God Bless!!

Kristan
