Halloween Pictures

Good Afternoon! Can't believe the kids are sleeping after eating there cupcakes. Normally we would have done the cupcakes in the morning but my little cupcake had to be taken to the doctors because she wasn't feeling the greatest. We got back in time to do Halloween crafts, take more pictures and eat lunch. Her fever has broken but the doctor says it could be a long night (Croup). Anyways I thought I would post some pictures of the kids, cupcakes and pumpkin carving.

The challenge is over at Clearly iStamp "All Tied Up", use ribbon or twine.

What I Used:
Clear Dollar Stamps: PatchPal Reindeer
Memento ink: Tuxedo Black
Bic Mark It Markers

Stampin' Sisters in Christ Challenge: John 16:33

Good Morning! Looks like it is going to be a beautiful day here in Ontario, Canada 19 C! After this though we are in for a whole week of rain and cooler weather. Stampin' Sisters in Christ has another challenge up, the verse for it is:

"I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart I have overcome the world."
John 16:33

Create a card that to you represents peace and calmness.

I would like to ask for prayer for a little 3 week old baby. I found out last weekend that the little boy we babysit sister was in the hospital, this precious little girl is only 3 weeks old. They don't know what is going on and are waiting for test results. The mom has said that they will be in the hospital at least another week and a half. Saturday night she had a fever of 104 and her heart rate went to dangerous levels, they finally got all the levels to normal and the baby in stable condition. As a mom I can't image what this family is going through. I am not sure if this family knows the Lord but as a Christian myself I know that there is power in prayer. I think that the above scripture is quite fitting for this situation and my card is inspired by this situation.

 What I used:
Clear Dollar Stamps: Charlie Praying
Memento Ink: Tuxedo Black, Lulu Lavender & Grape Jelly
Bic Mark It Markers
Spellbinders Nestabilities: Labels eight
Spellbinders Border (not sure of the name as I made the border at the crop)
Ribbon
EK Success Corner Rounder

For me peace only comes from God and praying is one way that I find that peace. Even in a bad situation I can take heart and now that God knows the outcome and has what is best for me. God doesn't promise that live is going to be easy but promises that He will carry us through the bad times. My favourite poem of all times is Foot Prints in the Sand, it is a great reminder that when we go through things like sickness, financial trouble, relationship issues, divorce, lost of a loved one that God will carry us through those times and bring us out on the other side. God can't carry us if we are unwilling, have you ever tried to pick up a kicking screaming child it's not easy and usually you just put the child down until he or she has calmed down. We can be like that screaming kicking child wanting our own way or wanting to do things on our own and blaming God for our circumstances but much like a parent He is patience and waits until we have calmed down and realize that we truly do need Him to carry us through.

Please head over to the challenge and join in it. The deadline is October 27th at 11:59p.m

Have A Great Day!

God Bless!!

Card for Michael

Good Morning! A few weeks ago I post about Naomi from Creative Bug on the Loose who's son has to have surgery on his feet and she is asking that people send him cards as he will be hospitalized for 3 days. To read more about Michael click on the link above!! Here is my card for him, I will get it in the mail soon!

What I Used:
Clear Dollar Stamps: Chuggin' Along
Whimsy Stamps: Love Mini Ticket/Mini Ticket Die
Memento Ink: Tuxedo Black
Prismacolor Watercolor Pencils
Water/Paint Brush
Homemade Stamp-a-ma-jig
Cuttlebug Embossing Folder: Beep Beep
Distress Ink: Faded Jeans
EK Success Corner Rounder
Stickles: Diamond & Black Diamond

This was my first time using just water with the watercolour pencils to blend and I must admit it's not my best colouring job but it is very child like which I think works well for this card being it is going to a little boy! I used a masking technique for the train to get the ball and car in the caboose (am I calling it the right thing?!?!) Well I hope that this card puts a smile on Michael's face!!

Have a Great Weekend!

Stampin Sisters in Christ Challenge: Psalm 52:10

Good Morning!! Well at least it will be if the rain they are calling for holds off so that we can take the kids to the park!! There is another challenge going on over at Stampin Sisters in Christ. The verse for the challenge is:

"But I am like an olive tree flourishing in the house of God; I trust in God's unfailing love for ever and ever." Psalm 52:10

Challenge: Have an image (or die cut) of a tree on your card or project.

What better way to show His love then to send His son to die for us. That is why we celebrate Christmas and why I created a Christmas card for this challenge:

What I used:
Clear Dollar Stamps: PatchPal Reindeer
Memento Ink: Tuxedo Black
Bic Mark It Markers
Spellbinders Nestabilities: Big Scalloped Oval SM
3 Girl JAM: Crinkle Ribbon: Mistletoe
EK Success Corner Rounder

This was my first time using the Bic Mark It Markers and I think next time I will heat emboss the image with black embossing powder so that the marker's don't bleed as the details are so small! If anyone has any suggestions on using these markers I would really appreciate it!! The challenge is opened until October 20 at 11:59p.m

Have A Great Day!

My Creative Time: Designers Challenge

Good Afternoon!! Well my mom and I stood outside Saturday morning in the cold for the grand opening of the new craft store in town. I bought some shiny paper and a paint brush to use for watercoloring but the prices were a little steep for me to buy anything else!! I think I will stick to my online shopping for craft supplies!! I did buy bic mark it markers from Walmart and used them on the weekend and really like them, I am waiting for my spectrum noir skin tone markers to come in the mail so that I can colour in images of people! Well there is another challenge going on over at My Creative Time " 3 homemade flowers, bling and yellow, blue and brown"

These colours are not ones I normally work with but I took on the challenge:

What I Used:
My Creative Time: Hello Spring
Memento Ink: Rich Cocoa
Spellbinders Shapeabilities: Flower Creations Three
Cuttlebug Embossing Folder: Baby's Breath
Flower Punch
Hot Glue Gun
Stickles: Golden Rod
Gems

I love the look of the flowers and they are so easy, four flowers punched out, pinch each petal down and layer them glueing each layer down and pressing the centre using a pointed end (a pen will work). Challenge ends on October 23.

Have A Great Day!!

God Bless!

Of all things to use and so easy. HERE is the video!
Ok onto the 3 Girl JAM Challenge, this time around it was "Anything Goes"

My First Crop and A Card

Good Evening! Wow what a night last night, I went to my very first crop. Walking into this ladies house was crazy!! 4 huge rooms full of crafting supplies, anything and everything you could image! have looking around and getting over the shock I learned a few new tricks. one thing I learn was how to use a Stamp-a-ma-jig, really wish I had know how to use this along time ago. Check out the video to see what I am talking about (O and a lady at the crop said she made her own so I am going to try that and save myself some money). My mission last night was to make a card for the little girl my mom and I babysit because she became a big sister 11 days ago and we got her alittle gift so she wouldn't feel left out. We there was a cute image that I stamped and was just going to colour in at home with my watercolor pencils, but the copics were calling my name!! Big mistake I spent this afternoon looking up the best price for them...... however I think I will go with Promarkers as they are cheaper and from what I can tell give the same effect! Parting with this card today was really hard as it was my first time using the copics and I wanted to keep it:(

What I think I Used (LOL)
Close to My Heart: Little Princess Stamp set
Memento Ink: Tuxedo Black
Copics
Spellbinders: Ovals and Lacey Oval Dies
Cuttlebug Embossing Folder: Textile
We R Memory Keepers Corner Chomper: 1/2"
Ribbon
not sure which company's the sentiments came from but I used the Stamp-a-ma-jig to get them spaced properly as one was a clear stamp and the other a wooden stamp.

I am for sure going back to this lady's house for another crop (November 6th to be exact lol). This time I know what she has and will make a list of what I want to do! If you have never been to a crop I really recommend it, not only do you get to craft but you get to meet with people and learn from them as well!!

Well I better get to bed as we have a busy day tomorrow, a 4 month old baby ontop of our regular kids, I get my baby fix in for the day!

Have A Great Night!

God Bless!

Another Origami Box

Good morning!! Well I am back to work after a long weekend which means a short work week!! We are down in numbers though which is good because last week we were at our max (5 kids plus my daughter) so I welcome the break! Yesterday I posted the second Origami box that I made and today I figured I would post the first one (like I tell my daughter it's backwards day).

What I used:
Flower Punch
Stickles: Xmas Red
Ribbon
12x12 piece of cardstock (base)

Naomi from Creative Bug On The Loose is the one who introduced me to this type of box. Thanks Naomi I am loving these!!

Ok so tonight I am going to my very first crop!! I want to tell you how this came to be. About a year ago I had googled places in my city to scrapbook besides Michaels this other place came up, the lady holds crops and retreats, I saved the link but never really gave it another thought as I didn't have anyone to go with. Well about a month ago my mom and I were at the park we take the kids to and a new lady with kids was there. We had heard her talk about church so my mom asked her what church she went to. Turns out she goes to church with some of my relatives. We knew her first name but when my mom asked her what her last name was I had flash backs to the previous year, could it be the lady who does the crops??? Sure enough it was!!! I am so excited that we have met and that she is a Christian. She told me to look at her site again and let her know which night I wanted to come. My mom has agreed to go with me and I have another lady from the park who is coming!! It is $15 for 4 hours and we get to use ALL of her crafting supplies (other then paper) and she supplies us with snacks and drinks!! It is no accident that we met, I mean she lives no were near this park (it takes her 30 minutes to walk and there are closer parks for her). I believe that God brings people into our lives for a reason!!  Well I am hoping this day goes by fast so that I can get cropping!!

Have A Great Day!!

God Bless!

Stampin' Sisters In Christ Challenge: Ephesians 3 :17-19

Happy Thanksgiving to my fellow Canadian Bloggers!! Yesterday in church the pastor talked about how spending time with family and friends and having big turkey dinners is nice but Thanksgiving is about God and giving Him thanks for all we have. Today I am thankful for my daughter and for God getting me out of a bad situation alive!! I am also thankful that God helping me to become a stronger person through it all!!

"I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me" Philippians 4:13

This brings me to the Stampin' Sisters in Christ new challenge. the verse for this challenge is:

"that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend  with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge." Ephesians 3: 17-19

Challenge: create a box or use an image that includes a box

Well I had just happen to come across Naomi's blog Creative Bug On The Loose  on Thursday and she had made this beautiful Origami box that I really wanted to try. I made one that day and when I saw this challenge I knew I wanted to make another one (I will post my first box tomorrow). I decided to make it smaller then the first just to try out different sizes of paper. I also through about the paper I wanted to use and went with heart patterned paper to go with the scripture.

What I Used:
K Andrew Design Stamps : I Heart You!
Memento Ink: Tuxedo Black
Spellbinders Nestabilities: Labels Eight
Stickles: Silver
Flower Punch
Ribbon
Hole Punch
Crafting Knife
Hot Glue Gun
8x8 piece of paper (base of box)

Now if you are anything like me and when I looked at Naomi's box I thought wow that must have taken alot of time, when I watch the video she has linked to her post it was so easy!! I now can make it without watching the video!! I plan on making these as Christmas gifts for the ladies we babysit for and filling them with chocolate!!

The challenge ends on Saturday October 13 at 11:59p.m.

Have A Blessed Day!!

Happy World Card Making Day

Good Morning. Since it is world card making day I figured I should post a card. But first have you ever made a card and put it away in your stash and then when the time comes you just don't want to part with it?? Well yesterday that happened to me, one of the ladies we babysit for gave my mom and me each a beautiful leaf tray with a box of fudge and a gift card for Thanksgiving! My mom wanted me to make a card for her and I was just about to do so when I remember I already had a fall themed card in my stash. When I pulled it out I really didn't want to let go of it, it's one of the cards that I actually really like of mine. you can see which card I am talking about HERE. Ok so on to my card for today. Peachy Keen Stamps Challenge Blog has an "Anything Goes" challenge going on right now, I actually prefer when there is a theme (as it is more challenging) but I figured I would make another Christmas card. My inspiration actually came from Norma over at PinkBlingCrafter, I had won some blog candy of her's and inside was this beautiful card using spellbinders I believe (if I am wrong Norma I am sorry). I had seen shaped cards before using spellbinders but not like this. What I did and I am not sure if this is how she did it but I cut two of the same shape and then scored a little section of one of them and glued that part to the other shape to get the base of my card (if that makes sense). the back piece is the one that is scored so that you can't see any fold marks from the front. The cards using spellbinders that I have seen and made have you fold a piece of card stock in half and place the die just off the edge of the cardstock so that the full die when cut out looses it's shape. I prefer the way that Norma did it!! Here is my card:

What I Used:
Peachy Keen Stamps: Our 2 Angels In Heaven
Memento Ink: Tuxedo Black
Spellbinders Nestabilities: Blossom Four
Cuttlebug Embossing Folder: D'vine Swirl
Colorbox Fluid Chalk Ink: Alabaster
Prismacolor Watercolor Pencils
Stickles: Golden Rod

Ok so if you were confused with all my mumble jumble then maybe looking at the card you get the picture!! All the points are intact with this card, below is a picture of a card I made in the past with the second technique that I had described so that you can see the difference:

When folding the card stock and then die cutting you loose one of the points! Thanks Norma for introducing me to a different technique where the shape remains intact!!

Well the Peachy Keen Stamps Challenge ends on October 10th at Midnight so get crafting!! Hoping to find some time today to get some more cards done but with it being Thanksgiving weekend here in Canada it might be a little tricky!!

Have A Great Weekend!!

God Bless!

My Creative Time: Googly Eye Challenge

Good Afternoon, Ya the rain held off yesterday as well as today so we have spent all week outside with the kids, which is good for today as my mom and I are not feeling the greatest. Hopefully this headache and nausea subside so that we are able to function tomorrow with the kids!! Anyways I thought I would post my card that I made for the My Creative Time : Googly Eye Challenge.

What I Used:
My Creative Time: Just Simply Live (Polaroid Die)
Teeny Tag Greetings  (tag and celebrate)
Memento Ink: Tuxedo Black
Peachy Keen Stamps: The Cornies Face Assortment
Bottle Caps
Googly Eyes
Twine
Cuttlebug Embossing Folder: Beep Beep
EK Success Corner Rounder
1" Circle Punch
White Gel Pen
Hot Glue Gun

I knew I wanted to use these bottle caps for little faces and thought that the Peachy Keen Faces would be perfect. I didn't end up filling them in with glossy accents like I did with the other bottle caps as the googly eyes were raised to high but I secured them with Hot Glue. There is still a few more days left to enter this challenge (October 9th at Midnight PST).

Have A Great Day!

Stampin' Sisters In Christ Challenge

Good Morning! Half way through the week and so far we have escaped the rain, praying that the weather forecast for today is wrong as well!!  Stampin' Sisters in Christ posted a new challenge on Sunday and I am really enjoying enter their challenges. The scripture for this one is:

"Speaking to one another in psalms, hymns and songs from the Spirit.Sing and make music from your heart to the Lord, always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ."
Ephesians 5:19-20

Challenge: Create a card/project that shows some element of music.

I have always loved music, I have played many instruments, flute, keyboard, guitar but never stuck with any of them. My instrument of choice is my voice. I remember in public school a friend of mine told me I sounded like an Opera singer when I sang!! (so not true now, I think I have a bit of country in me). I am a very shy person who hates speaking in public, so much so that when I was baptised I chose to sing instead of speak in front of the church!! For me being on stage and singing is less nerve wrecking then speaking in public. I have done alot with music in the church but have given that up to raise my daughter. I still enjoy singing and I think my daughter takes after me as she is always making up songs and singing everything!! I believe that God gives each and everyone of us different gifts and talents to use to worship Him, my just happens to be the gift of Music!

This challenge for me was a way to use my two passions, music and art.

What I Used:
Clear Dollar Stamps: Set Apart
Momento Ink: Tuxedo Black
7gypsies 6x6 paper stack
EK Success Corner Rounder
Gems
Ribbon
Heart button
Hot Glue Gun

I will be putting this card on my desk to remind myself that I am a "Child of the King"

You have until Saturday October 6th at 11:59p.m to enter your card/project.

Have A Great Day!

God Bless!

Little Scrap Pieces Fun Friday Challenge: Use Ribbon Or Twine

Good Morning! Baby's seem to be everywhere, 4 out of the 6 women we babysit for where pregnant and now just 1 is. One had her baby in the summer and this past weekend 2 of them had their baby's. One had a baby girl and the other a baby boy, I can't wait to meet them!! I already had a baby boy card made so I needed to make a baby girl card. I saw the challenge over at Little Scrap Pieces the same day as one of the ladies had her baby so I decided to make the baby card for this challenge "use ribbon or twine", not much of a challenge for me anymore as most if not all of my cards have ribbon on them!! Here is what I came up with:

What I Used:
Clear Dollar Stamps : Mini Calendar & Mini Months
Inspired Stamps : 1" Circle Sentiments
My Creative Time: Anyday Bingo & Crossword (foot print)
Memento Ink: Tuxedo Black
Cuttlebug Embossing Folder: Perfectly Paisley
Bottle Cap
Glossy Accents
3 Girl JAM: Crinkle Ribbon: Baby Girl
Gel Pen

The bottle caps have really become my go to for my cards!! The calender stamp I am loving and knew it would be perfect for a baby card, I do want to make a mini calender for next year as a Christmas present so hopefully I will find time to do that! You have until October 5th to enter your card for the Little Scrap Pieces Challenge.

Have A Great Day!

God Bless!
