Scrappin' Sisters in Christ Challenge: Psalm 147:3

Good Morning! Finally Friday. Last night I went to church where they were showing a movie called Hardflip, it was a really good movie that goes along with the rest of my post. I actually wrote this post a few days ago and just finding time to type it up now, I don't believe in coincidences so I know that the movie and this post go hand in hand. I recommend that you find away to watch it (I don't believe that it is in theatres but there is always a way to watch it).  Stampin' Sisters in Christ has another challenge going on this week. The scripture for it is:

“ He heals the broken hearted and binds up their wounds.” Psalm 147:3

Challenge: Use something “broken and put back together” on your card or project

At first I was stumped with this and then the first thing that came to me was humpty dumpty lol. I really wanted to use the scripture for my card so I went with a heart.  We have all had our hearts broken at least once in our lives, whether it was from a death of a loved one, divorce, being cheated on, being abused, lied to. 4/5 is normally a good thing but in this case it’s a bad thing, the only thing I haven’t had happen to me was being cheated on. Please don’t feel bad for me, all these things have made me who I am today and I think the only thing I would change is the death of a loved one. It’s what we do with our broken heart that makes the difference. Some people turn to alcohol, drugs, sex or another person all of these to try and fill a void, numb the pain or to feel good again, but they are all just quick fixes ones that don’t last or make you feel worse then you did before. The only one who can truly fix a broken heart is God. Without him I don’t even want to think about what or who I would have turned to after I left my abuse marriage.

I searched online for the biblical meaning behind this scripture and came across a very good read on it. Click on the link HERE to read it, it’s very eye opening and explains things much better than I ever could.

So here is my card:

  6. Kristan - My heart breaks just a bit reading your post, but also rejoices knowing you have found the true answer to whatever life throws at you. I was also a single mom with a beautiful little girl. Eventually the Lord brought me a strong, loving Christian man to be my husband and father to my little girl. She is now 22, we have 3 other children, and I have to tell you that letting the Lord orchestrate everything is the best way to go. Keep your eyes focused on him. I am praying for you.
Thanks for sharing your very sweet card with us at SSIC this week.
    Blessings,
    Michelle

  7. Kristan, I'm so behind in reading blogs and I'm sorry I've missed all that's been going on. It sounds as though your daughter's surgery went well and I do hope that she has fully recovered - and that this latest surgery will be the last!

I remember somebody once telling me that, when you look back in life, the very worst experiences are the ones that end up bringing the best to you in the end. It's true. All things do work together for good.

You've been so busy with your wonderful creations! They're fabulous!! I really like the ConQUACKulations card. It's just too sweet!
