Paper Lantern

Good Morning!! I have been sick the last few days, with body aches, fever, chills and a sore throat. This is the one thing I dislike about winter, it seems like every year I am sick around this time!! I am feeling alittle bit better so I thought I would do a quick post today showing you how to make a paper lantern inspired by the Martha Stewart Lantern Template. I watched a You Tube video on how to use the lantern template and figured I could make a lantern without the Template. Being a single mom I try and save money how ever I can. Below I will show you how I made it.

6x6 paper folded in half, folded side at top of score board
score at every 5th mark, starting at top and leaving 3/4 inch at bottom un- scored

cut each score line, I decorated mine using K Andrew Design Art Stamps : Winter Wishes

unfold the paper and form a circle and glue the ends together

for the centre I formed a tube using white paper
and pushed down so that the slits pushed out and glued the paper
in place

I used a battery operated tea light under it to light it up

Stamp set that I used you can buy it HERE

If you have any questions on how I made this please feel free to ask.

Have A Great Day

God Bless

Kristan

  4. Oh Kristan, I hope you are feeling much, much better. Are you taking Vitamin C? It helps with the colds.

I love, love, love this project!! How clever you are to come up with a way to make the lantern without buying the template! I have seen them and thought they looked cool but didn't want to have to purchase the template! Thank you for the instructions to make this...I will definitely be scraplifting :D
